BIZKAIA BRIDGE, SPAIN
Type: Steel metal bridge Length: 160 m Spans: 1 Maximum height of piers: 120 m
|
PRODUCT BRIO Modular Scaffolding and temporary access.
ACTION The renovation of the bridge focused on two key aspects: painting and repair.
- Revitalisation of the metal structure with a new coat of paint, protecting it against corrosion and improving its appearance.
- Repair of the deck where the rails are located to ensure the safe and smooth transit of the cab.
SOLUTION The bridge was completely covered with BRIO multi-directional scaffolding. Using 800 t of material, four 68 m high towers were installed directly on the ground, while 162 m of working platforms were suspended from the truss supporting the bridge deck.
The world’s oldest ferry declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

GROT-ROWECKI BRIDGE, POLAND
Type: Steel metal bridge Length: 645 m Spans: 7 Maximum span: 120 m Width: 46 m
|
PRODUCT BRIO Modular Scaffolding and temporary access. MK System.
ACTION
-
Upgrading of the bridge: reinforcement and lane widening in both directions.
-
Sandblasting and painting of the bridge, welding works, post-tensioning and widening of the carriageway.
SOLUTION
Suspended working platforms were installed from the bridge beam. The work was carried out under constant vibration and traffic, hence both the bottom and top part of the structures in both directions were reinforced with BRIO scaffolding elements. Platforms were created by combining elements of the MK System and the BRIO scaffolding. These were suspended below the span and equipped with an anti-slip surface for safe working. The IPE profiles acted as guide rails for the repair carriage. The communication and stiffening between the two solutions was achieved using components of the BRIO system.
Built in the 1970s, it is one of the longest and most heavily used bridges in Warsaw.

LAS ARENAS BRIDGE, SPAIN
Type: Cable-stayed bridge with composite steel-concrete deck Length: 700 m Maximum span: 100 m Width: 30 m Maximum height of piers: 30 m
|
PRODUCT BRIO Modular Scaffolding and temporary access. High-load trusses H-33 and ENKOFORM.
ACTION
SOLUTION A motorised mobile platform was designed to be suspended under the deck and anchored to the ends. Equipped with a rail system, it was adapted to the variable slope of the bridge while maintaining a constant working height of 1.8 metres. This design ensured a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly work process. 1.5 m material unloading areas were installed every 20 m on both sides of the platform. This solution made it possible to repair 100-metre sections in just 15 days, a significant improvement over the month required by other methods and for only 80 metres.
Transfers between piers, constrained by traffic, were carried out with cranes, optimising time and resources.
Efficient solution in a protected environment.

GUADIANA INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE, PORTUGAL
Type: Reinforced concrete and steel cable-stayed bridge Length: 660 m Spans: 5 Maximum span: 324 m Width: 18 m Maximum pylon height: 100 m
|
PRODUCT BRIO Modular Scaffolding and temporary access.
Gantries: heavy-duty shoring T-500 and frame shoring, profiles HEB 400 and ENKOFORM.
ACTION
- Repair and replacement of the stayed-bridge systems, maintenance work on structural elements, repair of various equipment and bituminous paving of the deck.
SOLUTION
The pylons were covered with BRIO scaffolding with access ladders to each of the working levels up to 100 m high. The design of the scaffolding was adapted to the geometry of the pylons, the presence of the stay cables and the wind conditions in the area.
Two protective gantries with a span of 14 m were erected under each pylon at the same time. Both served to support the scaffolding structure, to allow traffic to circulate and to protect the lane from the work on the pylons.
Safety with BRIO scaffolding at a height of 100 metres.

BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER ESERA, SPAIN
Type: Reinforced concrete bridge Length: 50 m Spans: 1 Maximum span: 42 m Width: 9.2 m Pier height: 6 m
|
PRODUCT BRIO Modular Scaffolding and temporary access.
ACTION
- Repair work on the bridge tri-arch and abutments.
SOLUTION BRIO cantilever scaffolding solution. In order not to disrupt traffic, the scaffolding was assembled by suspending the cantilevered scaffolding from the abutment to the shoe and from there to the centre. In areas with a gap between the arch and the deck, the bridge itself was used as the main support, with precise anchoring in critical areas. However, at the keystone, as there was insufficient height between the arch and the deck, the scaffolding was fully assembled suspended and tied.
Technical solutions without interfering with traffic.

HIGH-SPEED TRAIN, STRETCH C, MADRID-SEVILLA, SPAIN
Type: Reinforced concrete bridge Length: variable 481 m Maximum span: between 30 and 45 m Width: 11.6 m Pier height: 71 m
|
PRODUCT BRIO Modular Scaffolding and temporary access.
ACTION
- Comprehensive reparation of the Guadalmellato, Churreteles, Viñuela, Boyeros, Parrilla, Concejo, Cortaceros I, Martindientes and Valle viaducts.
SOLUTION As it was not possible to support any structure on the ground or on the deck, suspended scaffolding was installed to carry out the work under the deck and at the head of the columns. Although the length of each viaduct varied, a single solution, a 90 m BRIO scaffolding structure divided into two 45 m sections, was transferred to the different piers to complete each bridge. A walkway was installed to access the different work areas as well as access stairs. Use of BIM methodology and layout in Revit®.
Reuse of material on 9 viaducts.

DUARTE PACHECO VIADUCT, PORTUGAL
Type: Reinforced concrete bridge Length: 355.1 m Spans: Two 40 m lateral arches + 92 m central arch + two 85.8 m viaducts Maximum span: 98 m Width: 24 m Pier height: 35 m
|
PRODUCT BRIO Modular Scaffolding and temporary access. Gantries: OC frame shoring and ENKOFORM.
ACTION
- Repair and seismic reinforcement of structures.
SOLUTION
The BRIO scaffolding was cantilevered and hung on the deck and arches to create working platforms without affecting traffic flow.
Scaffolding structures were installed from the ground on the columns and abutments to allow worker access on all sides of the jobsite.
Two rail protection gantries with shoring towers, BRIO scaffolding elements and ENKOFORM girder formwork were erected to ensure safety under the bridge.
Lisbon’s longest viaduct.
