LGW boosts performance with the new 3 × 2.4 m panel
On site, simplifying assembly operations can make a significant difference to execution times. With this in mind, ULMA has expanded the capabilities of its LGW lightweight panel formwork with a new 3 × 2.4 m panel, designed to form larger areas and help work progress more efficiently.
LGW is a lightweight formwork system for walls, columns and foundations that combines low weight with high strength. Up to 10% lighter than other similar systems, the LGW range provides high load capacity, with a load capacity of 60 kN/m². Its design means that panels can be handled manually or assembled into larger gangs for crane handling, depending on the requirements of each project.
The addition of the 3 × 2.4 m panel extends the existing range and provides up to 7.2 m² of formwork area with a single panel. Its larger dimensions make it easier to configure extensive wall surfaces and reduce the number of operations required during assembly, helping to maintain a steady workflow on site.
The new panel combines the straightforward design of the LGW system with the larger dimensions needed to form extensive wall areas more efficiently. As with the rest of the range, easy-to-use clamps connect and align the panels quickly, while the optimised arrangement of tying points helps simplify formwork operations.
One of LGW’s main advantages is that the same system can be used for different vertical geometries, thanks to its wide range of panel heights and widths.
This flexibility is complemented by the system’s robust design. The panels feature hot-dip galvanised or painted steel frames with reinforced corners to increase resistance to the impacts associated with everyday site use. The 15 mm phenolic plywood form face also provides a high-quality concrete finish.
The low weight of the panels makes handling easier and gives site teams greater flexibility in managing their work, particularly in areas where crane access is limited or simply unnecessary. The result is a versatile system that allows available resources to be organised according to the requirements and pace of each project.
The versatility of the system also extends to the specific requirements of different markets. In the United States, ULMA offers MEGALITE, a lightweight panel formwork system developed in imperial measurements with the same focus on lightness, strength and ease of assembly.
LGW-MP, the version available for sale, allows both walls and columns to be formed using a single type of panel. This reduces the number of components required, simplifies storage and logistics, and helps optimise investment in equipment.
With the new 3 × 2.4 m panel, ULMA continues to expand the capabilities of the LGW system, providing a lightweight and robust formwork solution designed to improve on-site performance.
