Description
The new Multi-Purpose Hall in Tulcea is a landmark project for the county’s sports infrastructure, funded by the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration through the National Investment Company. The construction, carried out by Construcții Erbașu, is located near Lake Ciuperca and is scheduled for completion in December 2025.
The arena will feature a main competition court surrounded by spectator stands with a capacity of up to 4,670 seats, and a training court located in the basement beneath the main court’s footprint. Additional facilities include locker rooms for teams and officials, press areas, a conference room, and an underground parking lot. The building’s steel structure weighs approximately 600 tons, contributing to the unique architectural profile of the construction.
The total investment amounts to approximately 120 million lei (about 24 million euros), with the official inauguration scheduled for December 1, 2025.
ULMA Solution
ULMA was required to design a solution for the temporary support of the steel roof trusses with a total weight of 600 tons and a height of 17.5m. The most difficult part of the design was to provide four free access for the equipment needed to assemble the structure. The solution offered to support the loads was done with the T-60 shoring System.
