Description
The new construction stands out through a national technical first: it is the bridge with the largest parabolic arch in Romania, spanning the deck diagonally, with asymmetrical support cables and a combined steel-concrete deck. The bridge has a span of 73 meters, is 35.50 meters high and 81.20 meters long in total, and has a width of 13 meters, including two traffic lanes and pedestrian sidewalks on both sides.
In the tests, six heavy-duty trucks were used, each carrying a maximum load of 20 tons of stone.
The bridge connect the town of Mioveni to the commune of Davidesti (Arges County).
ULMA Solution
ULMA was required to design a solution for the temporary support of the segments of the steel arch structure. The design of the structure was done using T-500 Heavy duty shoring towers linked with special metallic elements that provide the requested rigidity for the loads applied.
The access to heights was achieved using the Brio multidirectional scaffolding system.
