ULMA Awarded EcoVadis Silver Medal in Recognition of Its Sustainability Performance

Oct 30, 2026
EcoVadis medals and badges recognise companies that have completed a business sustainability assessment and demonstrated a robust management system addressing sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) criteria. The assessment analyses their policies, implemented measures and results achieved.

ULMA Construction's parent company has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal, one of the most prestigious international recognitions for business sustainability performance. This recognition places the organisation in the 87th percentile worldwide for sustainability management, ranking ULMA among the top 15% of companies assessed globally. The result reflects positive progress compared to the previous year, when ULMA received the Bronze Medal, marking measurable improvements in the organisation's environmental, social and governance performance.

EcoVadis is the leading global platform for assessing business sustainability, with a network of more than 175,000 companies assessed across 180 countries. Its rating system provides a clear and transparent benchmark for customers, investors and other stakeholders, assessing a company's sustainability management system rather than the quality of its specific products or services.

The assessment methodology is based on international standards, such as the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000 guidelines. The information submitted by companies is reviewed and verified by EcoVadis' in-house sustainability analysts. Corporate sustainability performance is assessed across four key areas:

  • Environment: Emissions management, resource use and circular economy policies.
  • Labour & Human Rights: Working conditions, occupational health and safety, and diversity policies.
  • Ethics: Business transparency, anti-corruption measures and data security.
  • Sustainable Procurement: Integration of sustainability criteria throughout the supply chain.

The improvement in ULMA's EcoVadis rating coincides with the update of the company's Sustainability Strategy for the 2026–2028 period. This strategy outlines the key areas of action for continuous improvement and sets out the main environmental, social and governance indicators.

Key highlights from the strategy and consolidated results include:

  • Climate action and circularity: The company continues to make progress towards its goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. In 2025, key achievements included a 21.9% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions compared to the 2022 baseline, the recovery of 95,7% of waste generated at its manufacturing facilities and main distribution warehouse, and an increase in renewable energy production at its facilities.
  • Social sustainability and safety: ULMA maintains a strong commitment to stable employment, with 92.1% of employees on permanent contracts and zero serious accidents among its own employees.
  • Governance and supply chain: The company supports the local economy by sourcing 47.3% of the raw materials used in its manufacturing facilities from local suppliers (within a 150 km radius). In addition, 87.1% of its raw material suppliers have formally committed to ESG principles.

ULMA Construction’s 2026–2028 Sustainability Strategy is available on the company’s website, reaffirming its commitment to transparency with all stakeholders.
