Located in Miami, Florida lies a new residential apartment that’s 16 stories tall with a rooftop patio and 254 luxury apartments suites ranging from studios to 4-bedroom. From sizes 525 SF to 2,190 SF, this complex is filled with many new amenities for residents to experience a luxury way of living. Here at ULMA, we are grateful to partner up with RSI USA in bringing this building to life and providing them with an array of systems. With forming and shoring systems such as MEGAFRAME, MK-S, KSP, BMK, MEGAFORM and a MEGALITE Handset, we were able to create ways to ensure walls, columns and elevated decks.
ULMA Solution
The NEXO Residential apartment complex is a building that’s has a 600,000 sqft deck. With this large deck we were able to incorporate systems such as our MEGAFRAME system, a steel frame handset shoring system that can support 10,000 pounds per leg. Having this kind of system ensures security in the stability of the construction work. Along with that comes our MK-Straight systems, an architectural liner that can be used to be easily attached, removed, and reused. This system was used to maintain all core walls in place as well as the stairs. Another support for the sheer walls was a BMK roll back, another system that’s easy to use and has the maximum capacity to support heavy materials. Lastly regarding the shaft platforms, we introduced our KSP Platform, a waler and wooden beam combination for the formwork to be adjusted. Although we included the MEGALITE and MEGAFROM for the columns in this project, each column was able to be settled in place in time for reshoring.
