New High Rise Apartment Building
A new modern apartment complex in the heart of Midtown Atlanta

Description

We are proud to be involved in a dual-tower project totaling nearly 500 apartments in Atlanta, GA. This new modern apartment complex located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta has a north building reaching 38 floors which includes a parking floor on the 10th, swimming pool, and a penthouse floor in the top level. For the south building, it consists of 35 floors with just two penthouse floors on the top as well to enhance a resident’s living experience. ULMA was determined to provide the best possible forming and shoring solution that allowed both towers to retain its stability and load-bearing capacity by using a variation of our systems.

ULMA Solution

With the complexity of two buildings our MEGAFORM SYSTEM was used as the mat foundation for up to 7’ in height, retaining wall for up to 16’, shear walls for up to 10’ to 22’ with STRIPPING CORNERS and columns. Another use of this system was combining our MEGAFORM with the KSP PLATFORM, BMK PLATFORM from 10’ to 22’ and STRIPPING CORNERS for the stair core walls. Having all the systems in place provides a secure foundation for stability and allowing safety to play a key role in this project. With the North and South building shoring system began from Level 1 to 9 by including our ENKOFLEX SYSTEM that consisted of ALUPROP with aluminum stringers and aluminum joist with a height of 10’ to 22’Providing great versatility that compiles with high altitude projects such as this one to ensure all structural elements are in place.

From levels 10 to 37 in the North tower and levels 10 to 35 in the South tower, we once again used our ENKOFLEX SYSTEM with EP-PROP and ALUPROP with aluminum stringers and aluminum joist. This combination allows the same stability but with more security in its height adjustment. The last few levels in each building for the roof elevator and stair core consisted of MK180 for its shoring support allowing reshoring to take place with our EP-PROP and ALUPROP. Each building contained up to 436,210 to 513,500 square feet of shoring with a pouring cycle of 7 days to pour 11,600 square feet of concrete.
