Tampa International Airport, Taxiway ‘A’, Bridge, Florida, USA

ULMA is providing formwork equipment to construct the bridge with three spans and a total height of approximately 30 feet.

Description

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority projected the necessity of a new bridge for Taxiway ‘A’ at the Tampa International Airport to extend its capacity. GLF Construction Co. manages the project in partnership with ULMA Construction.

The new 3,000-foot-long, cross-field taxiway and bridge is located at the north end of the Tampa International Airport, within a project area of approx. 57 acres. ULMA is providing formwork equipment to construct the bridge with three spans and a total height of approximately 30 feet.

ULMA Solution

To solve the need for circular structures, ULMA delivered round steel columns. We also offered a total of over 47.000 sqft of VR Tables, along with H20 wood joists and MK120 walers.

For shoring solutions, ULMA provided the aluminum shoring post ALUPROP, a high load-bearing capacity post that meets shoring requirements, including re-shoring. Some of the numerous benefits of the ALUPROP include its long durability and easy/quick length adjustment.

Both MK Tables and ALUPROP solutions can be pre-assembled at ULMA’s warehouse, which results in a faster placement of the equipment on the job site and boosts productivity. In this case, the customer opted for the pre-assembly solution. Once the ALUPROP towers were ready- they were transported directly into the spans.

Most of the assembly was done on the ground, making the work more comfortable and efficient.
