Konin Power Plant, Poland

Solutions for polygonal silos of great height
The project encompasses the construction of a biomass energy power station with 50 MW power capacity.

Description

The project encompasses the construction of a biomass energy power station with 50 MW power capacity.

Apart from the boiler room, a system for unloading, storage, preparation and transport of biofuel had to be built.

For biomass storage, eight reinforced concrete silos with a capacity of 8,000, 6,000 and 1,000 m3 were erected. The 30 cm thick tank walls have inside radio between 9 and 22 m with heights of 13 to 19 m. The steel roof reaches 35 m.

ULMA Solution

The silo walls (15 m) were built in three stages with 6 m high formwork (2 x 3 m) in the first two stages and 3 m in the last.

The 80 cm thick bottom slab of the tanks was shored on T-60 towers, EP props and chain-linked ALUPROP shoring towers.

The silo roofs rest on circular columns of 80 to 100 cm in diameter and a height of 4.5 to 12 m built with circular steel formwork.
