Job Description

The ideal candidate will manage and be accountable for all Branch activity. They will ensure corporate volume and profit goals are achieved, including managing all aspects of Branch Administration, Engineering, Operations and Sales.

Duties and responsabilities

  • Full responsibility for all aspects of the Branch organization and activities in cooperation with Corporate Sales, Engineering, Operations and Administration.
  • Supports and monitors all Branch activities in coordination with the Sales team, Engineering and Operations Manager.
  • Coordinates and manages operational and engineering resources within the Branch to ensure mutually agreed objectives are achieved in the agreed time.
  • Oversees human resource needs and staff development for all employees in the Branch in coordination with Senior Management and Corporate Human Resources Department.
  • Maintains an awareness of and exercises judgement in areas such as market conditions, area opportunities, competitive activities in accordance with legislative and regulatory matters.
  • A ‘hands-on” proactive manager that directs and generally supervises activities of the Branch, including but not limited to, operational and engineering administration, marketing and sales activity and all aspects of the Branch business with the prime objective of maximizing growth and profitability.
  • Creates an optimistic “can-do” atmosphere in the Branch.  Promotes open and collaborative communications with regular meetings with all departments.
  • Ensures that safety training is conducted on a regular basis and that all operations are OSHA and compliant with our safety policies and procedures.  A key member of the safety audit team.  Promotes health and safety for the Branch.
  • Manages Branch budget including the procurement of goods and services in coordination with Finance and Operations and adhering to all procurement policies including signing authority. 
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure forecasted inventory is available, is balanced and in good condition
  • Ensures compliance with Branch’s fixed costs plans.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Engineering and Operations to manage orders and projects to meet customer needs which may require job site visits.
  • Works to resolve customer complaints.
  • Reviews proposals and customer PO’s and works with Corporate to determine if proposals and PO’s are profitable.
  • Proper use and management of Branch facility and Company assets, including following regular maintenance practices.
  • A key member of the ULMA Management team who will be called upon to conduct special projects and be a member of various company committees.
  • Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase production.

Experience, education, skills and abilities

  • 6 to 10 years’ experience in the construction equipment industry – preferably in concrete formwork.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in Business, Marketing or Engineering.
  • MBA is a strong plus.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints.
  • Knowledge of construction industry practices.
  • Managerial Skills
  • Knowledgeable in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office.
